On Behalf Of The University Of Zurich (Uzh), The Building Construction Authority Of The Canton Of Zurich Is Organizing Two Study Commissions In A Selective Process For The Artistic Design Of The New Forum Uzh Building. This Study Program Concerns Outdoor Space. The Building Owner Is The University Of Zurich, Which Will Also Use The Building For The Majority Of The Time. The Uzh Commissions The Building Construction Authority Of The Canton Of Zurich (Hba) With The Overall Project Management For The Sia Phases 2 To 5. The General Planner Is Herzog & De Meuron Forum Ag. The Study Assignment For The Forum Uzh Is To Find An Artistic Intervention In Outdoor Space That Deals In A Stimulating Way With The Architecture, The Surrounding Urban Space And The Function Of The New Building, Thereby Bringing Architecture And Art Together Into An Overall Concept. The Assessment Committee Assesses The Submitted Projects In Terms Of Their Engagement With The Task, Their Resonance With The Location, Their Artistic Impact And Their Relationship To Architecture And Landscape. The Artistic Suggestions Should Speak An Independent And Strong Visual Language. Static, Permanent Works Are Just As Welcome As Performative, Time-Based Works - The Latter As Long As A Coherent Concept For Their Realization And Documentation Can Be Demonstrated. The Long-Term Operating And Maintenance Costs Are Also Taken Into Account In The Assessment.
