Residential Water Meter Replacement Program . The Purpose Of This Request For Proposal Is To Solicit Submissions From Qualified And Experienced Firms To Supply And Replace Approximately 3,775 Existing Residential Water Meters Over A Three-Year Period Within The City Of Port Alberni. The Successful Contractor Will Be Responsible For Supplying And Installing New Residential Water Meters And Itron 100W Erts, Completing All Required Recordkeeping, Coordinating Appointments With Homeowners, Returning All Removed Meters To The City, And Carrying Out The Work In A Safe And Professional Manner. Meters Are Generally 3/4-Inch And 1-Inch In Size. Approximately 50% Of Installations Are Expected To Be Inside House Installations And Approximately 50% Are Expected To Be Pit Meter Installations. A Portion Of Existing Meters Have 1/2-Inch Tail Ends. It Is Estimated That 15% Or Less Of Installations Will Require New 3/4-Inch Tail Ends.
