Construction Work – 2026-0421 Renewal Of The Barrier Gate At The Marientor - Concrete, Reinforced Concrete And Hydraulic Steel Construction Work As Well As Emsr Technology. The Mariensperrtor Serves As A Flood Protection System, Providing Flood Protection For The Entire Inner And Old Town Area Of The City Of Duisburg. In Addition To The People Living And Working There, Assets Worth Well Over 2 Billion Euros, Including The Entire Area Around The Inner Harbor And The City Of Duisburgs Subway Network, Are Protected. As The Western End Of The Inner Harbor, The Mariensperrtor, Together With The Marientor Bridge, Forms The Transition To The Outer Harbor. The Mariensperrtor Continues To Function As A Flood Protection System. The Remaining Useful Life Of The Mariensperrtor, In Particular The Lock Including The Machine And System Parts, Is Now Coming To An End After More Than 90 Years, Despite The Maintenance And Repair Measures That Have Been Carried Out. Some Of The Structures, Machines And Technical Systems Of The Flood Barrier Gate System Are In Need Of Renovation Or Replacement. In Addition, Some Of Them Are Outdated And No Longer Correspond To The Generally Accepted Rules Of Technology And Current Safety Standards. The Renovation Of The Mariensperrtor Is Therefore Planned. The Following Structures Or Parts Of The Structure On The Mariensperrtor Are A Functional Part Of The Barrier Gate: - Gate Hall With Gate Chamber, Locking Body (Sliding Gate), Dam Panel Closure Of The Gate Chamber, Hall Crane - Pump Hall With Flood Pump, Circulation Channel, Rakes, Slides, Dam Panels, Hall Crane - Passage Opening With Impact Protection Device On The Gate And Pump Hall And Dam Beam Emergency Closure (On The Inner Harbor Side, With Removable Walkways (On The Gate And Pump Hall Side), - Crane Parking Space With Stop Beam Storage The Dimensions Of The Existing Barrier Gate Are Approximately 17.0 M Long, 4.53 M Wide And 16.80 M High. The Planned Renovation Of The Mariensperrtor Flood Protection System Essentially Includes The Following Main Service Areas: 1. Dismantling Work And Disposal: - Of The Existing Barrier Gate Including The Drive - Of The Gate Chamber Closure - Of The Hall Cranes, Pumps, Electrical Installations, Fixtures And Mechanical Engineering And Other Systems 2. Hydraulic Steel Construction: - Manufacture And Installation Of A New Barrier Gate As A Suspended Sliding Gate In Folding Construction, Including Gate Bridge And Drive - Manufacture And Installation Of A Gate Chamber Lock As A Mortising Gate Incl. Drive - Manufacture And Installation Of A New, Second Stop Bar Lock As An Inspection Lock And Adaptation Of The Existing Stop Bar Emergency Lock, Including New Construction Or Conversion Of The Storage Structures - Manufacture And Installation Of Spindle Gates 3. Electrical, Measurement, Control And Regulation Technology (Emsr): - Installation Of All Associated Electrical, Measurement, Control And Regulation Technology, Including Fire Protection And Burglary Monitoring, Transformer And Switchgear, Remote Data Transmission 4. Pumps And Lines - Installation Of Dirty Water Pumps, Stainless Steel And Pe Lines With Fittings (Slides, Aerators And Vents, Backflow Preventers) 5.
