The Gremista Landfill, Lerwick Phase 3 Extension Will Primarily Involve Cut And Fill Earthworks, New Haul Roads, Installing New Surface Water Drainage Ditches, Pipework, Manholes, And Headwalls; Placing A 500Mm Bentonite-Enriched Soil Layer Over The New Landfill Formation Surface; Followed By A 2Mm Hdpe Welded Geomembrane Basal Liner, Protection Geotextile, Leachate Collection Pipework, And 500Mm Thick, Clean Aggregate Drainage / Protection Layer. Capping Works To The Existing Phase 2 Landfill Area Are Also Included And Will Comprise 1Mm Thick Lldpe Welded Geomembrane And Restoration Soils.
