Tenders are invited for Provision of Training Services on Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Psychological First Aid (Pfa), Safe Referral Pathways, And Staff Care 2. Objective The overall objective of this assignment is to strengthen the capacity of SDC staff to: Understand key mental health concepts and common mental health conditions. Recognize and respond appropriately to individuals experiencing psychological distress. Identify suicide warning signs and apply basic risk assessment and safety planning approaches. Apply Psychological First Aid principles, including active listening and de-escalation techniques. Safely identify and refer individuals requiring specialized mental health, protection, or emergency services. Strengthen personal and organizational staff care practices to reduce burnout, compassion fatigue, and work-related stress. 3. Target participants The training will target: SDC staff: Case workers, Outreach workers, Community mobilizers, Protection and social service staff, Team leaders and supervisors and any other relevant positions. The expected number of participants will be communicated by SIF prior to implementation (for a maximum of 16 participants for 4 SDCs targeted). 4. Scope of work The service provider shall deliver specialized sessions covering the following topics: Module 1: Mental Health Fundamentals Participants should gain an understanding of: Basic mental health and psychosocial wellbeing concepts. Common myths and misconceptions about mental health. Facts and evidence-based understanding of mental health. Stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions. Recognition of common mental health conditions, including: Depression. Anxiety disorders. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Psychosis. Psychological reactions to crisis, conflict, displacement and loss (normal reactions vs signs requiring further support) Protective and risk factors affecting mental health. Module 2: Suicide Prevention Participants should gain practical knowledge and skills related to: Understanding suicidal ideation and behavior. Suicide risk and protective factors. Warning signs and indicators of suicide risk. Basic suicide risk assessment principles. Safety planning approaches. Immediate response considerations. Ethical and confidentiality considerations. Referral mechanisms and available support services. Module 3: Psychological First Aid (PFA) Participants should be trained on: Principles and objectives of Psychological First Aid. The "Look, Listen, Link" approach. Active listening skills. Empathetic communication. Providing practical support. Managing emotional distress. De-escalation techniques. Supporting individuals during crisis situations. Safe identification and referral of individuals requiring specialized services. Self Care while providing PFA and its importance Module 4: Safe Referral Pathways Participants should learn how to: Identify cases requiring referral. Understand referral principles and boundaries of practice. Responding safely to child disclosures Maintain confidentiality and informed consent. Navigate available mental health and psychosocial support services. Refer individuals safely and appropriately. Understanding professional boundaries and recognizing the limits of ones role Follow organizational referral protocols. Module 5: Staff Care and Wellbeing Participants should gain knowledge and practical tools related to: Understanding stress and its impact. Burnout prevention. Compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. Self-care strategies. Team care approaches. Peer support mechanisms. Building resilience. Stress management techniques. Developing personal wellbeing plans. Organizational wellbeing practices Promoting a supportive workplace culture. Staffcare should be delivered as separate dedicated sessions. 5. Training Methodology The training shall use participatory and adult-learning approaches, including: Interactive presentations. Group discussions. Case studies. Role plays. Scenario-based exercises. Skills demonstrations. Reflection exercises. Question-and-answer sessions. The methodology should prioritize practical application and participant engagement. 6. Deliverables The service provider shall provide: Before the Training Training agenda. Detailed training curriculum. Participant training materials and handouts. Pre-training assessment tools. During the Training Delivery of all agreed sessions. Facilitation of practical exercises and discussions. Attendance tracking. After the Training Post-training assessment. Participant evaluation summary. Staffcare impact assessment Final training report including: Training overview. Number of participants. Assessment findings. Key observations.
