Work Detail
Tenders are invited for Ontology Deployment Capability - Expro plus ObjectivesTo enable the Space System Ontology formal models to be disseminated and used to implement interoperability of MBSE toolsDescriptionThe ESA Agenda 2025 mandates the digitalisation of ESA projects. The main issue to be solved is the interoperability of tools. Tools can be interoperable if the data to be exchanged has a common meaning, a common semantic. This is achieved by developing an ontology. The Space System Ontology is under development using a formal language. It is possible to use the formal model to (i) initialize a documentation of the ontology by verbalization of the model, (ii) create a data base allowing to populate the ontology (i.e. to create instances of the object types defined in the ontology) and (iii) create tools allowing to translate various different physical representations of the same concepts. This allows to verify that a concept expressed in a MBSE tool is compliant to the ontology, and to translate it into another MBSE tool. Typical application examples are translation of MBSE models between Capella,Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or European Ground Segment Engineering Framework, including translation between various SysML representations, leading to interoperability between the tools of LSIs, and Agencies. Another goal is to configure the Data Hub, a central tool ensuring digital continuity between different engineering tools. In particular, to be effective, the ontology must be supported by automation to enable interoperability of tools and enable configuration of tools.A potential solution for (i) is to use the so-called "derivations" of Object Role Modelling (ORM) that describes the semantic equivalence of a concept expressed by two stakeholders, and to generate a translator between these two expressions. This translator is then complemented with the exporter/importer from the specific tools of the stakeholders. The solution for (ii) targets in particular the data hubs, that need to be adaptable to potential updates or refinement of the ontology, without forcing a change of the data hub code. It may depend on the selected data hub, and targets mainly the Model Based Engineering Data Hub (MBEH) and the GSEF (for GS OPS aspects). This activity encompasses the following tasks:- Identification of exploitation tools in compliance with the progress of the Data Hub and the needs of industry and projects at the time of procurement.- Specification of the tools- Design and development of the tools- Verification and validationof the tools- Demonstration of the tools for several scenario of exchange between various tools and various stakeholders.Softwareshall be delivered under an ESA Software Community Licence.
