Using Ultra-High-Speed Recordings Of Impact Processes, Fragmentation, Crack Propagation And Highly Dynamic Failure Mechanisms In Ceramics Will Be Investigated. These Processes Are Short-Term Phenomena In The Range Of The Speed Of Sound In Ceramics And Require Extremely High Temporal And Graphical Resolution With The Highest Image Sequence. To Optimally Illuminate The Ballistic Impact Tests, Lighting Systems Are Required That Guarantee Extremely Short Lighting Times, High Light Intensities And Perfect Temporal Synchronization With The Impact Event And The Camera.
