Jul 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Children & Youth, Education, Gender issues, Mental Health Remuneration range: 3000 to 4000 (USD) Duration of Contract: July 2026- Feb 2027 Skoun Lebanese Addictions Center is implementing the project "Inclusive Pathways to Protection: Strengthening GBV and Substance Use Responses for Women and Girls in Lebanon", with support from the Womens Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF). The project will be implemented over the period of March 2026 to March 2028 and aims to strengthen inclusive and gender-sensitive responses for women and girls affected by substance use (SU) and gender-based violence (GBV) in Lebanon. Building on the achievements of Skouns previous WPHF project, "Integrating Substance Use Disorders Prevention and Treatment into the Local Response to SGBV" (December 2023 November 2025), this initiative translates evidence and recommendations into action in response to Lebanons ongoing economic, social, and humanitarian crises. The project seeks to strengthen protection, enhance wellbeing, and empower crisis-affected women experiencing the intersection of substance use and GBV in Beirut and Mount Lebanon through a multi-level approach combining direct service delivery, outreach, capacity building, and institutional coordination. Within the direct services component, Skoun will implement structured art therapy sessions for women relatives of people who use substances, aiming to enhance family wellbeing, strengthen psychosocial support systems, and improve coping mechanisms among participants. Purpose of the Assignment Skoun seeks to recruit a qualified Art Therapy Consultant to design and facilitate group art therapy sessions for women relatives of people who use substances. The sessions aim to provide participants with a safe and supportive space to express emotions, strengthen coping mechanisms, reduce stress, and promote emotional wellbeing and resilience. Objectives: The Art Therapy Consultant will: Promote emotional expression and psychosocial wellbeing among women relatives of people who use substances. Enhance coping skills and resilience through creative and therapeutic activities. Foster peer support and mutual learning among participants. Contribute to improving family wellbeing and strengthening supportive environments for people affected by substance use Scope of Work The consultant will be responsible for: Reviewing and adapting the art therapy curriculum and session plans developed by Skoun. Facilitating: Two (2) art therapy groups; Eight (8) sessions per group; A total of sixteen (16) art therapy sessions. Ensuring that each group consists of approximately eight (8) women relatives of people who use substances, with the same participants attending all sessions whenever possible. Preparing session materials and facilitating participatory and therapeutic activities appropriate to participants needs. Creating a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment throughout the sessions. Coordinating with Skouns project and clinical teams regarding implementation, participant engagement, and referrals when needed. Documenting the implementation process and submitting reports on activities and outcomes. Expected Results The consultancy is expected to achieve the following results: Sixteen (16) art therapy sessions implemented. Approximately sixteen (16) unique women relatives of people who use substances engaged in structured group sessions. A total of one hundred and twenty-eight (128) participant attendances across all sessions. Improved emotional wellbeing, coping mechanisms, and peer support among participants. Enhanced family wellbeing and strengthened support networks surrounding people who use substances. Deliverables The consultant will submit: Adapted session plans and materials; Attendance sheets and session documentation; Brief progress reports following the implementation of sessions; A final narrative report summarizing: Activities conducted; Number of participants reached; Key themes and observations; Challenges encountered; Lessons learned and recommendations Duration and Location Duration: July 2026- Feb 2027 Location: Beirut and Mount Lebanon, Lebanon. Sessions will be implemented in community-based settings identified and coordinated by Skoun. Required Qualifications and Experience The consultant should possess: A university degree in Art Therapy, Psychology, Expressive Arts Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Formal training and demonstrated experience in art therapy and group facilitation. At least three years of professional experience facilitating psychosocial support or therapeutic group activities. Experience working with women and vulnerable populations. Strong understanding of trauma-informed, gender-sensitive, and rights-based approaches. Experience working in the fields of mental health, substance use, and/or gender-based violence is highly desirable. Excellent facilitation, communication, and report-writing skills in Arabic; knowledge of English is an asset. Reporting and Supervision The consultant will work under the direct supervision of Skouns Project Coordinator and in close coordination with Skouns clinical team, who will provide technical guidance, curricula, and quality assurance throughout the assignment.
