The Kitchens Currently Installed At The Balearic Islands Hospitality School Were Put Into Operation In 1994 And, After More Than Thirty Years Of Service, They Have Become Obsolete From A Technical And Functional Point Of View. Existing Equipment Lacks, In Many Cases, Original Spare Parts, Which Makes Its Maintenance And Repair Difficult, Increasing The Associated Costs. Likewise, They Have Energy Consumption Of Gas And Electricity That Is Significantly Higher Than Current Energy Efficiency Standards, With The Consequent Negative Impact On Both Operating Costs And The Quality Of The Training Provided. Given This Situation, It Has Been Considered Necessary To Undertake The Renovation Of The Facilities Of The School Of Hospitality Of The Balearic Islands And To Proceed With The Comprehensive Renovation Of Its Kitchen Equipment, In Order To Guarantee Adequate Facilities For The Practical Training Of Students, Maintain The Standards Of Training Excellence Of The Center And Promote A Better Adaptation Of Teaching To The Current Demands Of The Hospitality Sector. Likewise, This Action Will Improve The Energy Efficiency Of The Facilities And Reduce The Operating Costs Derived From Their Operation. The Execution Of The Works To Renovate The Facilities Has Been Put Out To Tender Through Contracting File Ec 02/2026. The Purpose Of This Contract Is The Supply, Installation And Commissioning Of The Necessary Kitchen Equipment, In Accordance With The Technical Characteristics Defined In The Technical Prescription Document, With The Aim Of Completing The Modernization Process Of The Facilities Of The School Of Hospitality Of The Balearic Islands Of Palma. It Should Be Noted That The Supply Of Kitchen Equipment And Furniture Was The Subject Of A Prior Tender Processed Through File Ec 04/2026. However, During The Processing Of Said Procedure It Was Found That None Of The Offers Presented Met The Minimum Technical Requirements Established In The Technical Prescription Documents, A Circumstance That Made The Award Of The Contract Impossible. Consequently, It Is Necessary To Promote A New Contracting Procedure That Allows The Described Need To Be Adequately Met.
