Tenders are invited for Architectural and Engineering (A&E) Services for Consultation, Evaluation, Inspection, Full Survey and Assessment of the Stacked Containers at U.S. Embassy Kuwait. The A&E firm shall perform a full survey that includes an assessment of all elements (steel structural elements, connections of structural elements, connections of columns to foundation, connections of steel stair platform to containers, foundation system, and substate soil condition, etc.) of the stacked containers to included structural, electrical, mechanical, and fire & life safety. The firm required to review all available design documents and produce detailed scaled as-built construction drawings of each building and all subsystems (connection details and foundation system) and an assessment report including structural calculations of the stacked containers for their structural integrity and code compliance. The survey may require a test pit, destructive or non-destructive testing to determine the reinforcing layout, or an evaluation of the material properties of the as-built construction (such as soil, concrete strength, reinforcing steel, structural steel, bolts, welding, etc.). It is the contractors responsibility to conduct necessary test pit and material testing to assess the structural items for validating the code compliance. Firms responding to this announcement on, or before closing date will be considered for selection using the following evaluation criteria in descending order of importance: Relevant professional qualifications of the firm in the type of work required for projects having a construction value of at least KWD 100,000 in the past three years. The Embassy will select for negotiation the licensed firm that demonstrates the best qualifications.
