Request for proposals for Enterprise Fundraising Expert - Preparing and Planning for Investor Engagement Closing Date: Wednesday, 01. Jul 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Humanitarian & Development Financing, Trade & Finance, Training & Capacity Building Remuneration range: 2000 to 3000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 1 month Description of the Project and its participants: The WASTE or RESOURCE: Enterprises and municipalities environmental and social responsibility project, funded by AICS and implemented by CESVI, CELIM, OXFAM, POLIMI, ISF-MI, and the Municipalities of Hasbaya and Rachaya, aims at contributing to reduce the negative impact on health and the environment caused by air, soil, and water pollution and contamination in Lebanon, in accordance with SDG 3.9. In order to do so, CESVI has supported 20 MSMEs working at different levels of the waste and environmental protection value chain. MSMEs have been assisted in developing strategies to reduce their negative environmental impact. The participating MSMEs continue to receive support in the form of technical capacity building, and financial support. The 20 project MSMEs are established businesses in the industrial, farming, educational, F&B, stationary, and energy sectors. Some MSMEs are committed to environmental harm reduction via their business plan (i.e. recyclers, upcyclers, waste processers, packaging reduction), while others are traditional businesses that have integrated elements of environmental harm reduction into their business plans. The enterprises involved in the project are of varying capacities, sizes, and business ages, but all already have a business plan, clients, and presence in the market. Most are working on restabilizing after the conflict, with a keen interest in growth, refining products, and accessing new markets across the board. Expected outcomes from the consultancy service: at least 1 and up to 3 group fundraising & investment readiness sessions for 5 enterprises in the WASTE or RESOURCE project to better prepare MSMEs for investor engagement. Through: guided MSME process enhancement and increased entrepreneur capacities supporting investor mapping and outreach Insights on the required documents for approaching investors Session materials and handouts, where relevant At least 3 MSMEs engaged in investor appraisal exchanges, allowing MSMEs to build investor engagement capacities to be utilized post-conflict by receiving feedback from investors and investment experts. Expected outputs include: Appraisal of enterprise pitch deck, financial models, and relevant existing documents of at least 3 MSMEs working towards fundraising 1on1 session with appraised enterprises Consolidated checklist and appraisal summary for entrepreneurs to better prepare for fundraising Skills and competencies: Among many assets, an expert in investment readiness is expected to provide reliable information to enterprise owners that will help them plan for and eventually secure investments. A qualified expert will have a vast array of industry knowledge and skillsets, but will include, to name a few core offerings, expertise on: value propositioning; financial transparency, accuracy and planning and financial model making; enterprise governance and strengthening internal procedures; regulatory compliance and appraisal; performance tracking, quantification and leveraging during pitching; investor identification and analysis, engagement, negotiation, goal realignment, perfecting pitch decks, and documenting investment agreement and deliverables Education, experience, and industry access: At least 5 years working in investee appraisal and matching at a relevant venture capital, PE, impact fund, angel network or similar entity providing financing for micro, small and medium enterprises Proven capacity to coach micro, small and medium enterprises of different backgrounds, capacities, and development stages in volatile contexts Degree in finance, economics, accounting, or similar. Advanced degrees and certifications are a plus.
