The City Of Calgary Is Seeking Proposals From Qualified Multidisciplinary Teams To Support A Feasibility Study And Potential Subsequent Planning, Design, And Construction Support For A Riparian Enhancement And River Access Management Project Within Griffith Woods Park Along The Elbow River In Southwest Calgary.The Project Will Evaluate The Feasibility Of Restoring Degraded Riparian Areas, Stabilizing Eroding Riverbanks, And Improving Ecological Function, While Also Exploring Opportunities To Enhance Habitat, Reduce Impacts From Undesignated Trails, And Integrate Safe, Sustainable Public River Access Within A Highly Valued Natural Environment Park. The Work Will Consider Hydrology, Regulatory Requirements, Constructability, Integration With Surrounding Park Infrastructure And Recreational Use, Public Access Management, And Long Term Performance, Maintenance, And Stewardship Within A Sensitive Riparian Context.The Project Is Anticipated To Be Delivered In Four Phases:•Phase 1 – Feasibility Study;•Phase 2 – Preliminary Design;•Phase 3 – Detailed Design; And•Phase 4 – Construction Administration, Support, And Monitoring.The Scope Of Work For Phase 1 Includes A Comprehensive Feasibility Study Encompassing Site Investigations Which May Include Field Data Collection, Riparian Health And Hydrologic Assessment, Evaluation Of Opportunities And Constraints, Development Of Conceptual Enhancement And Access Management Alternatives, Preliminary Cost Estimates, And Identification Of Risks And Mitigation Strategies. The Feasibility Study Will Provide The Information Required For The City To Make An Informed Go/No Go Decision Regarding Advancement To Subsequent Phases.The Initial Award Under This Rfp Is For Phase 1 Only. Award Of Subsequent Phases Will Be Subject To The Results Of The Feasibility Study, City Approval, Confirmed Funding, And Satisfactory Consultant Performance. The Estimated Budget For Consulting Fees For Phase 1 Is $120,000.
