As a partnership agency, Trócaire works with a portfolio of national and local partner organisations to strengthen their capacities to deliver humanitarian assistance and implement development-oriented programmes in a way that ensures compliance with international standards. Background Trócaire is committed to promoting the wellbeing, resilience, and psychological safety of its employees. As part of this commitment, Trócaire Lebanon seeks to engage a qualified and experienced psychologist, counsellor, or psychosocial wellbeing consultant to provide ongoing wellbeing support services to staff. Feedback received from previous group counselling sessions highlighted the value of having a safe and confidential space where staff could openly reflect, share experiences, discuss challenges, and receive supportive facilitation. In response, Trócaire seeks to establish a longer-term wellbeing support mechanism that combines group facilitation, psychosocial support, wellbeing promotion, and individual counselling where required. Purpose of the Consultancy The purpose of this consultancy is to strengthen staff wellbeing, resilience, engagement, and psychological safety through the provision of regular psychosocial support services and facilitated wellbeing activities. The consultant will be expected to propose and deliver an approach that is tailored to the needs of Trócaire staff and promotes a positive, supportive, and inclusive work environment. Scope of Services The consultant will be expected to design and deliver a comprehensive staff wellbeing program that shall be tailored to the group assessment, needs and requests. This may include, but is not limited to: A. Group counselling Sessions Facilitation of monthly staff counselling sessions. Creation of safe spaces for reflection, discussion, peer support, and team connection. Facilitated discussions on workplace culture, wellbeing and stress management. Activities that promote resilience, self-awareness, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing. B. Capacity Building session on wellbeing and self-care Delivery of group workshops and counselling sessions on topics such as: Stress management Burnout prevention Psychological resilience Self-care practices Managing change and uncertainty Work-life balance Emotional intelligence Team communication and conflict management C. Critical Incident Support Provision of in -country psychosocial support and guidance following critical incidents affecting staff, including individual and group interventions, and in person support where appropriate. D. Advisory Support Prepare and present during bi-monthly meeting with Country Director and HR focal point to update on: Progress, engagement and plans for the group counselling sessions. Provide recommendations on emerging staff wellbeing needs and suggest enabling measures. Advice to management on appropriate wellbeing responses where needed. Share anonymized observations and trends that may help strengthen organisational wellbeing initiatives with Country Director and HR FP. Deliverables The consultant will be expected to deliver: One facilitated group wellbeing session per month, in person preferred location Beirut, hybrid accepted. Wellbeing workshops and awareness sessions as agreed by Trócaire and Consultant Availability for consultation and support following critical incidents. Quarterly anonymized summary reports outlining: Activities delivered Participation levels Emerging wellbeing themes and recommendations No personally identifiable information shall be included in any report. Duration of Consultancy The consultancy is expected to commence in July 2026 for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension subject to performance, organisational needs, and budget availability. Required Qualifications and Experience Applicants should demonstrate: Advanced degree in Psychology, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Mental Health, Social Work, or a related field. Professional registration or accreditation where applicable. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience providing group psychosocial support, counselling, and wellbeing services. Experience working with organisations, NGOs, humanitarian, development, or international organizations. Strong facilitation and group engagement skills. Experience supporting teams operating in complex, high-pressure, or humanitarian contexts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in Arabic and English. Confidentiality and Ethical Standards The consultant must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information obtained through counselling or wellbeing activities and is required to sign and comply with Trócaires Confidentiality Agreement. No personal information concerning staff members may be disclosed to Trócaire without the explicit consent of the individual concerned, except where safeguarding obligations or legal requirements apply. Proposal Requirements Interested applicants should submit: Technical proposal outlining their proposed methodology and approach. Description of proposed wellbeing programme and facilitation model. CV(s) of consultant(s). Financial proposal including daily rates and/or retainer fees. Examples of similar assignments completed. Evaluation Criteria Applications will be assessed based on: Relevant qualifications and experience. Understanding of staff wellbeing and psychosocial support. Proposed methodology and facilitation approach. Experience with NGOs and humanitarian organisations. Value for money.
