En27tha512 - Fsr Construction, Reactivation, Deactivation And Bridge Installation In Holberg . The Proposed Contract Requires The Provision Of Forest Service Road Construction, Reconstruction, Maintenance/Reactivation, Deactivation, And Bridge Installation Services Within The Seaward/Tlasta Business Area On Northern Vancouver Island. The Work Is Located Between Winter Harbour And Holberg On Thesj47 And Sj49 Road Systems Accessed From The S700 Forest Service Road. The Scope Of Work Includes Approximately 738 M Of New Road Construction, 2,475 M Of Road Reconstruction, 1,284 M Of Road Maintenance/Reactivation, 1,600 Of Road Deactivation, And Installation Of One 12.2 M All‑Steel Portable Bridge, Along With Associated Drainage, Culvert, And Signage Works. Activities Also Include Site Preparation, Material Placement, Brushing, And Implementation Of Environmental Protection Measures In Accordance With Project Specifications. Work Will Be Carried Out In Remote Terrain With Challenging Geotechnical Conditions, Including Areas With A High Frequency Of Landslides, Steep Grades, And Constrained Access. The Contract Requires Careful Coordination Of Construction Activities Within Prescribed Weather Windows And Fish Windows, Particularly For Deactivation Works And Areas Subject To Rainfall Shutdown Criteria, With Most Activities Scheduled Within The Summer Dry Period To Mitigate Environmental And Safety Risks. Equipment Working In And Around Streams Are Required To Use Biodegradable Hydraulic Oil. The Contract Will Require Qualified Contractors With Appropriate Equipment, Supervision, And Safety Programs To Complete Concurrent Work Activities While Meeting Environmental, Safety, And Operational Requirements. Deliverables Will Be Completed In Accordance With Approved Work Plans, Specifications, And Schedules, With All Works Contributing To Safe, Sustainable Infrastructure Development Within The Bc Timber Sales Program.
