Tenders are invited for Consultant for the Training of Psychosocial Support Facilitators on SEL, PSS and Play-Based Learning. Closing Date: Friday, 26. Jun 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Training & Capacity Building Remuneration range: 2000 to 3000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 1 month 1. Background As part of the EQIE, Education in Emergencies (EiE) project, Right To Plays partner Bet Atfal El Somoud will implement psychosocial support and learning activities for children affected by crisis and displacement. To strengthen the quality of intervention delivery, the project seeks to build the capacity of Psychosocial Support (PSS) Facilitators on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Psychosocial Support (PSS), and Play-Based Learning methodologies. Right To Play is seeking a qualified Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Consultant to support the co-development and delivery of a training package that equips facilitators with practical knowledge and skills to implement safe, inclusive, child-centered, and trauma-informed activities that promote childrens psychosocial wellbeing, social-emotional development, participation, and learning recovery. 2. Purpose of the Consultancy The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical expertise in the design and delivery of a training for Psychosocial Support Facilitators on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Psychosocial Support (PSS), and Play-Based Learning methodologies. The consultant will support the preparation and facilitation of the training, ensuring that participants gain practical skills and confidence to deliver quality SEL and PSS interventions through play-based approaches in emergency and crisis-affected contexts. 3. Scope of Work A. Training Preparation and Co-Development (1 Day) The consultant will: Participate in planning and coordination meetings with the project team. Review project objectives, target participant profiles, and existing training materials. Co-develop and adapt the training agenda, content, and facilitation methodology with the project team. Ensure training content reflects: Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies. Psychosocial Support (PSS) principles and approaches. Play-Based Learning methodologies. Child-centered and trauma-informed approaches. Inclusion and participation considerations. Contribute practical exercises, demonstrations, and facilitation techniques that can be applied by facilitators working with children in emergency settings. B. Training Facilitation (6 Days) The consultant will lead and facilitate six days of participatory training for Psychosocial Support Facilitators. Indicative training topics may include: Foundations of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) as per Right To Plays Framework. Child development and psychosocial wellbeing. Psychosocial Support principles and approaches. Play-Based Learning methodology. Designing and facilitating play-based activities. Promoting SEL competencies through play. Child-centered and trauma-informed facilitation approaches. Creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments. Positive group management and facilitation skills. Inclusion and meaningful participation of all children. Reflection and debriefing techniques. Adapting activities for emergency contexts. Facilitator wellbeing and self-care. Practice facilitation sessions and peer feedback. The consultant is expected to utilize participatory adult-learning methodologies, including demonstrations, role plays, group work, experiential learning activities, and practice facilitation opportunities. The consultant will work collaboratively with the project team and co-facilitators to ensure consistency and quality of training delivery across all training locations. 4. Deliverables The consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables: Training Preparation and Co-Development Participate in one day of planning and co-development of the training agenda, content, and materials with the project team. First week of July Training Facilitation & Practical Learning Activities Facilitate six (6) days of training on SEL, PSS, and Play-Based Learning for Psychosocial Support Facilitators. Deliver practical exercises, demonstrations, and facilitation practice sessions throughout the training. July Training Materials Submission Submit presentations and training materials used during facilitation. Within 3 working days of training completion 5. Duration of Consultancy Total Duration: 7 Working Days One (1) day for preparation and co-development. Six (6) days for training facilitation. Expected Period: July or August Location(s): North Lebanon and Saida (South Lebanon) 6. Required Qualifications and Experience The consultant should possess: Advanced university degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Psychosocial Support (PSS), Education in Emergencies (EiE), or related sectors. Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating trainings for teachers, facilitators, social workers, community workers, or education personnel. Strong technical expertise in Play-Based Learning methodologies. Sound understanding of child development, psychosocial wellbeing, and trauma-informed approaches. Experience working in humanitarian, emergency, displacement, or crisis-affected settings. Strong facilitation, communication, and adult-learning skills. Fluency in Arabic is required; working knowledge of English is preferred. 7. Reporting and Coordination The consultant will work closely with the project team and designated technical focal points throughout the assignment. The consultant will report directly to: Child Protection and Psychosocial Support Specialist How to apply 8. Consultancy fees are subject to 8.5% withholding tax if the consultant does not hold a Ministry of Finance (MOF) number. Agreements will be registered with the MOF regardless of whether the consultant holds an MOF number.
