The Undersecretariat Of Public Works Sop Requires The Directorate Of Highways, Dependent On The Ministry Of Public Works, To Acquisition Of 2 Snowcat Units, New And Unused, For Snow Clearance At The Pehuenche Border Crossing Route 115-Ch, International, In The Maule Region. The Acquisition Of This Equipment Is Intended To Strengthen The Conservation Work Of Route 115-Ch, Pehuenche International Pass, In The Maule Region, Specifically In The Mountain Sector Frequently Affected By Snow, Avalanches And Landslides During The Winter Season. These Equipment Will Allow The Highway Department To:  Strengthen The Road Conservation Operation, To Achieve Road Connectivity, Route 115-Ch, Pehuenche International Pass, During The Winter Season, By Incorporating Appropriate Equipment For Highly Efficient And Reliable Snow Clearing.  Have The Capacity To Move Snow In Various Forms And Remains Of Avalanches On High-Thickness, Low-Resistance Snow Surfaces And Ice, In A State Of Emergency.  Strengthen The Road Connection Capacity Of The Highway Department, On Routes Above 2500 Meters Above Sea Level Affected By Humid Weather With Temperatures Below 0 ºc.  Reduce Border Crossing Closure Times, Optimizing Snow Clearance Protocol Times On This Critical Route, To Strengthen Trade, Tourism And Local And International Traffic.  Increase The Safety Of Users Of Route Ch-115, By Improving Traffic Conditions During Adverse Winter Weather Events.  Incorporate Monitoring And Telemetry Technology, Applied To The New Equipment, Which Allows Its Use Regardless Of Visibility Conditions Canceled By White Wind Or Snowfall, Which Determines Continuity Of Use And Allows Operational Decisions In Real Time.
