Work Detail
Research And Development Services And Related Consultancy Services – Optimization Of Fixed Street Lighting To Reduce The Lighting Level While Maintaining Visual Safety. The Requirements For Stationary Street Lighting Have Expanded Significantly In The Last Few Decades. In Addition To Traffic Safety And Urban Planning Aspects, Ecological Goals Such As Reducing Light Pollution And Protecting Nocturnal Animals Are Becoming Increasingly Important. Current Regulations Such As Din En 13201 Define Central Photometric Criteria (E.G. Lighting Level, Uniformity, Glare), But Do Not Sufficiently Take Their Interactions Into Account. In Particular, Almost Constant Uniformity Is Required Regardless Of The Lighting Level, Which In Practice Often Leads To Overlighting And Increased Energy Consumption. Despite Modern Led Technologies, This Problem Remains. Overlighting Causes Unnecessary Energy Losses And Increases Light Emissions. Adaptive Dimming Systems, Trade-Off Relationships Between Lighting Parameters And Higher-Level Quality Criteria Are Discussed As Possible Solutions. The Trade-Off Approach, In Which Photometric Parameters Balance Each Other Out To Maintain Overall Quality, Is Particularly Promising. Research From Japan Shows That Higher Uniformity Allows Lower Average Luminances Without Compromising Visibility. This Results In Significant Efficiency Potential, For Example By Reducing The Lighting Level While Improving Uniformity. The Aim Of The Research Project Is To Systematically Analyze These Relationships And Convert Them Into New Planning And Design Criteria. The Aim Is To Develop Energy-Efficient, Environmentally Friendly And Standard-Compliant Lighting Solutions. One Focus Is On Integrating The Interaction Between Luminance And Uniformity Into Standardization. The Benefits Include In Particular: • Energy Savings Through Optimized Lighting Levels • Reduction Of Light Pollution And Improved Environmental Protection • Further Development Of Existing Standards • Practical Planning Methods To Avoid Over-Illumination • More Efficient Use Of Modern Led Technology • Maintaining Traffic Safety With Lower Energy Use • Cost Advantages For Municipalities And Operators Through Lower Operating Costs Overall, The Project Lays The Foundation For More Sustainable, Efficient And Normatively Consistent Street Lighting In The Future.
