Tenders are invited for Media Assessment on SOGIESC, Human Rights and Ethical Journalism in Lebanon. Closing Date: Thursday, 25. Jun 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Communications & Media The project aims to promote rights-based media engagement, strengthen ethical journalism practices, and contribute to more accurate and inclusive public discourse on issues related to SOGIESC. To support these objectives, FNF seeks to recruit a qualified consultant to conduct a comprehensive media assessment examining how SOGIESC issues are portrayed across Lebanese media platforms. The assessment will analyze dominant narratives, identify challenges and opportunities in media reporting, and evaluate the extent to which coverage aligns with human rights principles and ethical journalism standards. The consultant will be responsible for developing the research methodology, conducting media content analysis, and engaging relevant stakeholders, including journalists, media professionals, human rights experts, and civil society representatives. The assessment should explore issues related to stigma, discrimination, hate speech, misinformation, harmful stereotypes, and the role of media during political, electoral, and public policy debates. Based on the assessment findings, the consultant will develop practical recommendations aimed at improving rights-based reporting and media engagement on SOGIESC issues. In addition, the consultant will design and deliver 2 one-day capacity-building training for journalists and prepare a comprehensive training manual covering ethical reporting practices, human rights frameworks, inclusive language, misinformation, and responsible media engagement. The assignment is expected to result in evidence-based recommendations that will inform future awareness campaigns, journalist capacity-building initiatives, and broader efforts to foster a more inclusive and rights-respecting media environment in Lebanon. The consultancy will be conducted over a period of approximately three months and will culminate in the submission of a final assessment report, training materials, training manual, and presentation of findings to project stakeholders.
