Tenders Are Invited For Supplying Desalinated Sand

The Scope Of This Process Includes The Supply Of Desalinated Sand For A Sand Bed, During Pipeline Work For Filling Trenches Where Polluted Or Poorly Compactable Soil Emerges. The Choice Of The Type Of Sand (Circular Or Desalinated) Is Made Per Project By The Amsterdam Water Company Foundation And Lies With The Project Leader. The Basic Principle Is That Circular Sand Is First Used Where Possible, Provided It Is Technically Suitable And Available. This Is Currently First Collected From The Land Bank Of Amsterdam (If Available). Circular Sand May Be Less Easy To Compact In Some Cases. For This Reason, It Is Assessed Per Project Which Type Of Sand Meets The Required Technical Specifications, Including The Required Degree Of Compaction. If Circular Sand Is Not Suitable Or Not Available, Desalinated Sand Is Used.
