Bc Parks Is Seeking Qualified Contractors To Complete Fuel Management Treatments In Treatment Unit 2 (Tu 2) Of Silver Star Park, Located Near The Silver Star Mountain Resort Boundary. The Objective Is To Reduce Wildfire Risk To Adjacent Recreation Areas And Nearby Residential Interface, While Improving Public Safety And Forest Resilience.The Project Covers Approximately 7.8 Hectares And Will Use Hand Treatment Methods Due To Steep Terrain. Work Includes Understory Thinning, Pruning To Reduce Ladder Fuels, And Surface Fuel Reduction Through Piling And Burning.The Site Features Moderate To Steep Slopes (Up To 65%), Dense Understory Fuels, And Proximity To Trails And Private Properties. Contractors Must Be Capable Of Working Safely In Challenging Terrain And Active Recreation Areas, While Meeting Environmental Protections (E.G., Riparian Buffers, Wildlife Timing Windows) And Detailed Prescription Standards.This Opportunity Is Suited To Experienced Fuel Management Contractors With Strong Safety Practices And The Ability To Operate In Sensitive, High-Use Environments.
