Tenders are invited for e4ex-014 Vision Based Navigation Techniques for Mars Landers - Expro+ The objective of this activity is to demonstrate a vision-based navigation SW algorithm capable of achieving touchdown position knowledge better than 40 m, as a possible enabler for future Mars pinpoint landing missions.To address this issue, this activity proposes to develop a vision-based navigation (VBN) solution algorithm using multiple pre-loaded maps of variable resolutions which should be used both prior to parachute deployment as well as during parachute descent phase.The navigation solution shall be tested and validated up to TRL4 through:A model-in-the-loop (MIL) numerical simulator, for complete performance assessment. Processor-in-the-loop (PIL) tests, to demonstrate code porting, result reproducibility, and execution times of the navigation system on a representative processor.
