The City Of Zottegem Aims To Realize A High-Quality, Contemporary And Future-Oriented Cultural Center, Which Functions As An Open, Warm And Accessible Meeting Place For All Residents And Visitors. This Assignment Specifically Concerns The Appointment Of A Design Team For The Study Assignment, Coordination, Realization And Site Follow-Up Of A New High-Quality, Contemporary And Future-Oriented Cultural Center. The Project Is Located On The Plots Of The Former Helios Site And Consists Of Two Related Parts: - The Historic Mansion (Former Center For Regional History) Located At Nieuwstraat 40; - The Former Helios Sports Hall With Associated Buildings, Accessible Via Kazernstraat 21. The Project Includes: • The Thoughtful Repurposing Of The Historic Mansion, Nieuwstraat 40; • The Renewal, Renovation And (Partial) Reconstruction Of The Helios Site; • The Architectural And Functional Linking Of Both Buildings And Their Outdoor Space Into One Legible And Coherent Cultural Center. The Culture Center Unites: • Cultural Experience; • Performing Arts; • Meeting; • Public Functions And Supporting Facilities In One Coherent Whole. The Design Team Is Expected To Approach This Assignment From A High-Quality, Sustainable And Future-Oriented Design Vision, With Special Attention To: • A Balanced Consideration Between Heritage Care, Functionality And Affordability; • Integral Accessibility And User Comfort; • Greening And Sustainable Material And Energy Choices; • Careful Urban Integration And A Respectful Relationship With The Environment. These Principles Form The Substantive Framework Within Which The Design Team Will Carry Out Its Study Assignment. The Name “Helios” Is Provisionally Used As A Working Name In These Specifications, Referring To The Former Sports Hall. This Name Is Not Final And Does Not Form Part Of The Assignment, Nor Of Subsequent Choices Regarding Exploitation Or Branding. After Award, The Design Team Is Responsible For The Integral Implementation Of The Study Assignment And The Coordination Of All Disciplines Involved Within The Scope Of These Specifications, Including (Not Exhaustive): I.2 Services To Be Provided By The Designer I.2.1 Scope And Coordination Study And Design Disciplines • Architectural Design With Preparation Of Plans, Specifications For The Assignment For The Execution Of The Works; • Stability Studies By Specialized Engineers; • Study Of The Technical Installations (Hvac, Sanitary Facilities, Electricity, Electronics, Elevators, Fire Safety Installations, Building Management, Etc.)
