Expression of Interest are invited for Implementation of Legal and Regulatory Frameworks for Derivatives Markets Description Under its Treasury Capital Markets Advisory Unit (TRECA), IFC delivers Derivatives Advisory Programs (DAP) in partnership with regulators, industry bodies, market practitioners and international standard setters to build the required skills, legal and regulatory frameworks, market infrastructures, and trading capacities at local financial institutions to support the development of well-functioning derivatives market in a member country. The DAP aims to support financial regulators in advancing their financial market reform agendaparticularly in the area of over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives laying the groundwork for informed and sustainable market development. As an initial step in developing derivatives markets in emerging market and developing economy (EMDE) jurisdictions, the TRECA team engages an external international legal counsel to conduct diagnostics of the legal and regulatory environments and to carry out gap assessments for over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets. Building on this diagnostic work, TRECA now seeks to engage an external legal firm (The Consultant) to support the implementation of legal and regulatory reforms as the basis for strong and stable derivatives markets in up to five (5) jurisdictions that have either completed, or will undergo, the diagnostic stage.
