Its Timely Implementation Constitutes A Pillar In The Treatment Of Complex Wounds, Pressure Ulcers, Infected Lesions Or Burns, Since It Reduces The Bacterial Load, Reduces The Risk Of Systemic Infection And Prevents The Appearance Of Major Complications. In This Context, Escharectomy Performed At The Clinically Indicated Time Makes It Possible To Control Infection Foci, Prevent The Progression Of Complex Lesions, And Adequately Prepare The Surgical Bed For Subsequent Reconstructive Procedures, Such As Skin Grafts, Among Others.
