The Sewer Network Of The Automatic Trolley Transport System (Awt) Connects The Buildings At The Düsseldorf University Hospital And Ensures The Supply And Disposal Of The Clinic. The Awt System Is Operated With Two Different Transport Systems: A Rail-Guided, Ceiling-Suspended System (Ehb - Electric Monorail) And A Driverless Transport System (Agv). Both Systems Are Connected By Transfer Stations Into Which The Awt Containers Are Reloaded. The Wagons Are Transported Within The Buildings From The Underground Awt Area To The Respective Target Level Using Special Awt Elevators. The Awt Sewer Network Has Grown Steadily And Now Extends Over 550M In Both The North-South Direction And In The East-West Direction And Currently Has A Total Length Of Approx. 3.0 Km. Since There Are Plans To Connect Additional Buildings To The Sewer System In The Future, The Building Inspectorate Is Demanding A Sustainable Overall Fire Protection Concept.
