Architectural Services For Outdoor Areas – Realization Competition Freiraum Theatervorplatz Rostock. As Part Of The Development Of One Of The Last Large Brownfields In The Rostock City Center Redevelopment Area, The Am Bussebart Area And The Public Open Spaces To The East Became A Core Part Of The Urban And Landscape Planning Redesign Of The Northern Old Town. The Reason For The Start Of Planning Is The Structural Developments On The Volkstheater Construction Sites, A Possible Parking Garage On Fischerstrasse And A Building Complex On The Former Harbor Market. The Planning Work For The Construction Of The Forecourt In Front Of The New Volkstheater, Including A Large Staircase To The Am Bussebart Square Below, Will Be Tendered In This Urban, Landscape Architecture Competition With Subsequent Negotiation Process. The Planning Space For The Competition Covers The Approximately 4,000 M2 Area Directly Adjacent To The New Volkstheater In The Langen Straße Area. The Aim Of The Planning Competition Is To Develop An Open Space For This Urban Development-Sensitive Area, Which Does Justice To The Main Entrance Area Of The New Volkstheater And Creates A Functional And Design Connection Between The Main Highway In The City Center, Langen Straße And The Western Circulation On Kanonsberg (Up To The Volkstheater Entrance). The Entrance To Bussebart Is Formulated Via The Large Outside Staircase. The Topic Of Outside Stairs Plays A Major Role In The Competition. With The Outside Staircase, Another Eye-Catcher Can Be Created In Addition To The Creatively Sophisticated New Theater Building, Which Must Fit The Theater But Also Has Its Own Special Presence. The Construction Of The New Volkstheater Will Complete The Constructed Street Space On Lange Straße And Place A Keystone In The Western Edge Of The Old Town. The Forecourt To Be Redesigned Is Intended To Integrate The Volkstheater Into The Listed Ensemble And To Create The Special Character Of The Place As A Balcony Over The Bussebart And The Adjoining City Harbor And The Warnow.
