Tenders are invited for High Performance Cost Effective Solar Array Expro+ Objective: To develop solar array concepts targeting very high figures of merit in terms of power/volume and power/mass with the target values of 200 W/kg and 60 kW/m3 and manufacture prototype components and breadboards.Description: The solar array market is instrong need of solutions that have drastically improved figures of merit in terms of power/mass and power/volume. Targets are here 200 W/kg and 60 kW/m3. Those values are believed to be only reachable with flexible solar array concepts which are currently not available in Europe. Therefore, a number of building blocks are required such as new panel substrates/flexible blankets, interface withinnovative mechanisms, advanced photovoltaic assembly technologies and processes. There is a variety of different concepts based onflexible solar arrays available from non-European suppliers. For some missions non-European solar array suppliers have already beenselected due to non-available competitive European products. Therefore, strong development efforts are required to be competitive in this market segment. The target of this activity is to obtain a solar array concept targeting very high figures of merit in terms of power/volume (60 kW/m3) and power/mass (200 W/kg). The activity encompasses as a minimum the following tasks: - Identification offlexible solar array concepts compatible with indicated figures of merit - Definition of technology building blocks - Development of prototype components and breadboards - Development roadmap.
