The City Of Red Deer (The “City”) Invites Interested Vendors (Respondents) To Submit A Quotation For The Replacement Of Heaved Catch Basins And Leads. The City Has Developed The Heaved Catch Basin And Lead Replacement Program Since 2015, In Response To The Severe Heaving Action That Some Catch Basins Were Exhibiting Each Winter. This Heaving Action Results In Damage To Various Pieces Of Surface And Underground Infrastructure, Which Must Be Address On A Regular Basis. Since 2015, Approximately 850 Catch Basins And Catch Basin Manholes Have Been Replaced And Frost Treated Under Various Programs. This Program Aims To Continue Of Replacing And Frost Treating Catch Basins That Exhibit Signs Of Frost Movement To Reduce The Impacts Of Frost Heaving On Surrounding Infrastructure.
