Municipal Planning Is The Most Important Tool In The Planning And Building Act (Pbl). Many Problems Nevertheless Require Solutions That Go Beyond The Individual Municipality. This May Involve A Need For Regional Plans, Inter-Municipal Cooperation Or The Establishment Of Own Organizations Or Collaborative Solutions, Etc. The Ministry Of Local Government And District Affairs Wants A Study Which Maps And Assesses The Use Of Various Instruments In The Pbl (And Possibly Adjacent Legislation) To Deal With Various Types Of Cross-Border Issues In Planning, And Proposes Any New Instruments. Central Issues Are: • Which Plant Themes Are Particularly Important To Consider In An Inter-Municipal Or Regional Context? • How Is Practice Today? • What Are The Opportunities And Challenges Linked To The Various Instruments And Themes To Ensure Sustainable Planning? • Is There A Need To Consider New Instruments Or Measures That Can Contribute To A More Efficient And Sustainable Handling Of Cross-Municipal Issues?
