Project: Tender21735 - Freight Data Modernization Initiative Phase 1 Page Actions List Area List Project Details . This Request For Bids (Rfb) Is Issued For Phase 1 Of The Freight Data Modernization Initiative. The Objective Of Phase 1 Is To Develop A Comprehensive Understanding Of Jurisdictional Freight Data Collection Practices, Existing Data Sources, And Empirical Approaches Relevant To Freight Data Analysis And Modelling. The Findings From Phase 1 Will Support The Development Of A Data Acquisition Strategy In Phase 2. Phase 2 Is Separate. Scope Of Work Mto Is Seeking A Consultant To Produce Report Deliverables That: • Establish A Clear Understanding Of Mto’S Multi-Modal Freight Data Needs, Including Those Of Internal Stakeholders And External Partners. • Identify And Evaluate Public And Commercial Freight Data Sources And Acquisition Practices Relevant To Ontario That Can Support Mto’S Emerging Freight Data Needs For Future Planning And Forecasting Functions. • Assess Freight Data Gaps And Limitations Currently Used By Mto For Data Acquisition, As Well As Coverage Of Non-Road Modes Such As Rail, Marine, And Air. • Review And Assess Innovative Approaches To Data Acquisition And Synthesis Used In Other Jurisdictions, Including The Use Of Machine Learning And Artificial Intelligence To Integrate Disparate Data Sources, And Make Recommendations For Mto. The Final Report Is Due By December 2026. The Consultant(S) Is/Are Working From Their Site(S) With Regular Virtual Engagement With Mto.
