Tenders Are Invited For Adare Public Realm Upgrade Project 2026

The Project Involves An Upgrade To The Public Realm Along Main Street And Station Road In The Village Of Adare. The Proposed Scheme Objective Is To Improve Mobility Within The Village As Part Of Providing A Safe And Sustainable Transport Network With Enhanced Pedestrian Accessibility As Well As Keeping Through Traffic Moving At Lower Speeds But Without Causing Too Much Impediment. This Will Be Accomplished By Widening Footpaths, Removal Of Some On Street Parking, Upgrading Facilities For Vulnerable Road Users, Providing Road Crossing Facilities And Narrowing The Main Street In Adare To A Consistent Carriageway Width Of 6.5 Meters. The Street Modifications Will Be Provided Over 1.3Km Of The N21, Between The Limerick City Approach Speed Limit And The Manor Fields Signal Controlled Junction On The Rathkeale Road. The Public Realm Upgrade Works Include 500M Of Main Street And A Further 200M Of Station Road, And Will Include Traffic Calming Measures, Footpath Upgrades With High Quality Paving Materials, Road Resurfacing And Specialist Road Surface Treatments, New Street Furniture, Enhanced Soft Landscaping, Upgraded Sustainable Street Lighting, Wayfinding Signage And Improvements To Surface Water Drainage Disposal.
