Work Detail
Technical Testing, Analysis And Consultancy Services – Control And Monitoring Of Invasive Exotic Species In The Segura Hydrographic Demarcation.. Invasive Exotic Species (Ias) Constitute One Of The Main Causes Of Biodiversity Loss In Aquatic Ecosystems And Pose A Threat To Compliance With The Objectives Of The Water Framework Directive And The Hydrological Plan Of The Demarcation, In Particular The Achievement Of The Good Status Of Water Masses Before 2027. The Instruction Of The Secretary Of State For The Environment Of February 24, 2021 Integrates The Hydrographic Confederations In The Alert Network For Ias Surveillance And Defines Its Role In The Prevention, Control And Monitoring Of These Species. Likewise, Royal Decree 665/2023, Which Modifies The Regulation Of The Hydraulic Public Domain, Establishes That Basin Organizations Will Keep The List Of Invasive Exotic Species Present In Their Area Updated And Can Carry Out Prevention, Containment, Control Or Eradication Actions. The Hydrological Plan Of The Segura Hydrographic Demarcation 2022-2027 Includes In Its Program Of Measures Measure 1769, Relating To The Detection And Monitoring Of Invasive Exotic Species Of Fauna, In Particular The Zebra Mussel And The Asian Clam. The High Invasive Potential Of Both Species And Their Rapid Expansion In Recent Years Make It Necessary To Maintain A Surveillance And Early Detection System That Improves Knowledge About Their Distribution And Facilitates The Adoption Of Management Measures. Likewise, It Is Necessary To Improve Knowledge About The Presence Of Other Exotic Species In The Demarcation, Such As Certain Invasive Fish And Crabs, Both To Support The Planning Of River Restoration Actions And To Contribute To The Conservation Of Native Species. In Order For The Chs To Comply With The Obligations Derived From The Current Regulatory Framework, As Well As Adequately Evaluate And Manage The Risk That Invasive Exotic Species Pose To The State And Conservation Of Water Bodies, It Is Necessary To Carry Out Various Monitoring, Early Detection And Improvement Of Knowledge About The Presence And Distribution Of Said Species In The Hydrographic District. These Actions To Be Contracted Are Intended To Facilitate Adequate Prevention, Control And Management By This Basin Organization, Also Allowing The Availability Of Updated, Systematic And Reliable Information, Essential For Correct Decision-Making Regarding Management And Protection Of The Hydraulic Public Domain.
