Tenders are invited for Once off Supply, Delivery, and Installation of Vinyl Plank Flooring: Building 1, 1st Floor at Csir Carlow Road. 1 Removal of existing floor coverings and disposal m2 813 2 Preparation of floors to receive vinyl covering by applying 3mm self-leveling screed to floors receiving vinyl flooring m2 813 3 Supply and install Belgotex 1219.2mm x 177.8mm Sylvan Cedar vinyl planks 2.5mm thick with 0.5mm wear layer size, fitted in accordance with manufacturers specifications to smooth and approved cement surface m2 813 SCOPE OF WORK The contractor shall supply all labour, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the installation of Belgotex Sylvan Cedar vinyl planks or approved equivalent, including preparation of the subfloor, removal of existing floor coverings, installation, and final cleaning. Touch-ups and making good. 2. PRODUCT SPECIFICATION: (Provide and install) Type: Belgotex Sylvan Cedar LVT or approved equivalent. Dimensions: 1219.2 mm (L) × 177.8 mm (W) Thickness: 2.5 mm Wear Layer: 0.5 mm heavy-duty commercial-grade Finish: As per manufacturers standard colour tone and texture Installation: Glue-down method as per manufacturers specifications, including approved adhesive. All materials must be new, undamaged, and sourced from an authorized Belgotex supplier. 3. PREPARATION 3.1 Removal of Existing Floor Finish Remove all existing carpet tiles/roll carpet, underlay, grippers, adhesives, and associated debris. Dispose of all waste at a licensed disposal facility in accordance with environmental regulations 3.2 Subfloor Preparation Inspect the concrete/cement surface for cracks, unevenness, moisture intrusion, and structural defects. Grind high spots and fill low spots using a cementitious self-levelling compound as required. Ensure moisture levels comply with Manufactures requirements (typically 3% moisture content or as tested with a hygrometer). Clean and vacuum thoroughly to remove dust, laitance, contaminants, and loose particles. 4. INSTALLATION 4.1 Adhesive Application Use Manufatures approved flooring adhesive suitable for vinyl planks. Apply adhesive uniformly with the recommended trowel notch size. 4.2 Plank Installation Install planks in a staggered pattern unless specified otherwise. Ensure tight joints, straight alignment, and consistent spacing. Cut planks neatly around door frames, corners, columns, and fixed fittings. Maintain expansion allowances where required. 5. FINISHING Roll the floor using a 4550 kg roller to ensure full adhesion and eliminate air pockets. Install edge trims, reducers, and skirting as needed. Remove excess adhesive and clean the surface with recommended cleaning agents 6. QUALITY ASSURANCE Installation shall comply with manufacturers guidelines and SANS standards. All workmanship must be neat, uniform, and free of defects such as gaps, lifting edges, bubbles, or uneven transitions. Final inspection to be conducted jointly with the client. 7. HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS Comply with OHS Act and site-specific safety requirements. The successful bidder will be required to submit a valid and sitespecific Health and Safety File in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and its applicable Regulations. Use PPE and ensure safe disposal of adhesives, carpet waste, and scrap materials. 8. HANDOVER Provide maintenance instructions and warranty documentation. Present the installed areas clean, dust-free, and ready for occupation.
