Date Added: May 14, 2026 Deadline: 21/05/2026 Category: Consultancy WATERAID NIGERIA is seeking to engage a qualified and experienced consultant to facilitate a Business Development and Women Empowerment Training for Female Local Area Mechanics (FLAMs) and community women within Ojodu and Ikorodu North LCDAs, Lagos State. The consultancy forms part of the Advancing Inclusive Water Sanitation and Hygiene in Lagos project funded by DP World and aimed at strengthening sustainable WASH service delivery, womens empowerment, and entrepreneurship development. The consultant will design and deliver a practical, participatory, and hands-on training focused on liquid soap making, disinfectant production, basic business development, and financial management skills for approximately sixty (60) women participants. The training is expected to equip participants with entrepreneurial and income-generating skills that will contribute to improved livelihoods and strengthen womens participation within the WASH value chain. The assignment will include the preparation of training materials/manuals, facilitation of practical group sessions, mentoring participants during production exercises, and submission of a detailed training report documenting activities, participation, outcomes, and recommendations. Requirements Interested consultants/organizations must meet the following minimum requirements: Demonstrated experience in conducting business development, entrepreneurship, vocational, or women empowerment trainings, particularly for community-based groups or development programmes. Proven technical knowledge and practical experience in liquid soap production, disinfectant making, hygiene product development, and related WASH entrepreneurship initiatives. Experience working with NGOs, development partners, donor-funded projects, or community development programmes, preferably within the WASH sector. Strong facilitation and participatory training skills, including the ability to conduct practical, hands-on learning sessions for adult participants with varying educational backgrounds. Ability to develop clear and user-friendly training manuals, guides, and training reports. Availability of qualified personnel with relevant expertise in entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, and practical product manufacturing. Excellent communication and report writing skills in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken within the project communities will be an added advantage. Submission of evidence of previous similar assignments successfully executed, including references or sample reports where applicable. Registration documents for firms/organizations or valid means of identification for individual consultants. Submission of a concise technical and financial proposal outlining methodology, work plan, relevant experience, and proposed budget for the assignment. Submission requirement Interested consultants/organizations are required to submit the following documents for consideration: A detailed Technical Proposal outlining the consultants understanding of the assignment, proposed methodology, work plan, facilitation approach, and implementation timeline. A Financial Proposal providing a detailed cost breakdown for the consultancy assignment, inclusive of all applicable taxes and logistics costs. Company profile or curriculum vitae (CV) of the lead consultant and key personnel demonstrating relevant qualifications and experience. Evidence of previous similar assignments conducted, including copies of contracts, reference letters, sample reports, or links to relevant work where applicable. Copies of relevant academic and professional qualifications/certifications of the consultant(s). Evidence of business registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for firms/organizations or a valid means of identification for individual consultants. At least two (2) professional references from previous clients or organizations for whom similar assignments have been successfully carried out. A proposed training agenda and sample training materials/manuals relevant to the assignment. Proof of tax compliance or Tax Identification Number (TIN), where applicable.
