Request for proposals for Consultant to Support the Department of Health Services to Strengthen Infection Prevention and Control Activities and Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention FHI 360 is a nonprofit organization that mobilizes research, resources and relationships so that people everywhere can access the opportunities they need to lead full, healthy lives. FHI 360 serves more than 70 countries and all U.S. states and territories. In todays interconnected world, a disease can spread from a remote village to major cities across continents in as little as 36 hours. Increased international travel and trade, population growth and mobility, rapid urbanization, and under-resourced health systems all contribute to the emergence and spread of infectious diseases (USCDC/GHSA) The U.S. governments (USG) Global Health Security (GHS) program provides life-saving assistance to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats which pose risks for public health outbreaks that could cost lives. As part of the USGs GHS program, the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Activity advances cross-sectoral capacity efforts to successfully identify, manage, and respond to infectious disease threats, detect and prevent further outbreaks, and instill confidence in national disease surveillance and detection system structures and services. STRIDES aims to increase a countrys Joint External Evaluation (JEE) scores by supporting national governments to strengthen core capacities including workforce development, laboratory and surveillance systems strengthening, and emergency response operations thereby improving overall global health security. The STRIDES target provinces/city span eight priority areas: Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Takeo, Svay Rieng, Siem Reap, Kampot, Battambang, and Phnom Penh.
