The Municipality Of Rotterdam Is Working On The Revitalization Of The Pendrecht Shopping Area, Located Around Plein 1953. In Recent Decades, The Original Residential And Retail Blocks Have Been Severely Damaged By Individual Adjustments To Awnings, Facades, Eaves And Advertising. This Has Led To A Fragmented, Messy And Unsafe-Looking Street Scene. The Current Awnings In The Pendrecht Shopping Area Lack Coherence Due To Various, Uncoordinated Adjustments. This Situation Detracts From The Architectural Quality Of The Residential-Retail Blocks And The Intended Appearance Of The Shopping Area. A Collective, Technically High-Quality Approach Is Necessary To Restore The Original Unity. The End Result Of The Slinge Integrated Facade Approach Project Is A Fully Restored, Continuous And Uniform Canopy Zone That Restores The Original Architectural Quality Of The Pendrecht Shopping Area. The Awnings Once Again Form One Recognizable Line With Integrated Lighting, Fixed Positions For Advertising And A Quiet, Well-Maintained Street Scene. This Gives The Shopping Area An Attractive, Safe And Future-Proof Appearance That Fits In With The Ambitions Of The Image Quality Plan And The Identity Of The District.
