Little Qualicum River Erosion Protection . The Town Of Qualicum Beach, Hereinafter Referred To As The Town, Invites Tenders For Construction Of The Little Qualicum River Erosion Protection Project. The Right Bank Of Little Qualicum River Is Eroding And Requires Stabilization South Of Waters Road, Qualicum Beach, Bc. This Section Of Riverbank Is Experiencing Active Erosion Progressing Toward A Buried Municipal Watermain, Placing Critical Infrastructure At Risk. The Goal Of This Project Is To Safely Install Instream Rock Spurs That Will Protect The Riverbank And The Town’S Buried Watermain. Major Project Components Include: A) Clearing, Stripping, And Stockpiling For Access To The Project Site For Construction Of The Design B) Isolation Of Work Areas From Flowing Water C) Erosion And Sediment Control D) Excavation To Construct Temporary Slopes And Design Subgrades, Including Temporary Stockpiling Of Excavated Material E) Supply, Transport, And Installation Of Spur Rock F) Supply, Transport, And Installation Of Large Woody Debris (Lwd) Complexes And Ballasting Accessories G) Supply, Transport, And Installation Of Soil Wraps H) Re-Distribution Of Stockpiled Materials To Impacted Areas I) Supply, Transport, And Establishment Of Site Restoration Planting All In-Stream Work Must Be Completed Between July 15 And September 15, 2026. A Mandatory Site Visit Is Scheduled For 2:00:00 P.M. Pst On May 13, 2026, At Little Qualicum River At The South End Of Waters Road In Qualicum Beach, Bc.
