Echo Sounders – Acquisition Of A Multibeam Echo Sounder + Adcp System To Install In The B/O Cim Uvigo. Acquisition Of A Multibeam Echo Sounder + Adcp System To Be Installed On The B/O Cim Uvigo The Proposal Aims To Provide The State-Of-The-Art Coastal Oceanographic Research Vessel B/O Cim-Uvigo—A Medium-Sized Vessel (19.5 M In Length And 5.4 M In Width), With Plug-In Hybrid Propulsion And Built In 2023—With An Advanced Hull-Integrated Acoustic Survey System. This System Will Be Composed Of A High-Resolution Multibeam Echosounder And An Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (Adcp), Allowing The Simultaneous And Coherent Acquisition Of Detailed Information On The Topography Of The Seabed And The Three-Dimensional Structure Of Currents In The Water Column, Within Its Specific Operational Range (Up To 40 Nautical Miles From The Coast And 200 M Depth). The Joint Incorporation Of Both Systems Will Represent A Qualitative Leap In The Scientific-Technical Capabilities Of The Ship, By Enabling Integrated Studies Of The Ocean Floor And Dynamics In Coastal Areas And Shallow Continental Shelves, Traditionally Underrepresented By Large Oceanographic Vessels. The Multibeam Will Allow Obtaining Digital Models Of The Marine Terrain And High-Resolution Acoustic Mapping, While The Adcp Will Provide Precise Measurements Of The Speed And Direction Of Currents Throughout The Water Column, Key Information For The Interpretation Of Sedimentary, Ecological And Oceanographic Processes.
