The Board Of Regents Of The University System Of Georgia (¿Bor¿) As ¿Owner¿, On Behalf Of The University Of Georgia,¿User¿ Is Soliciting Statements Of Qualifications From Firms Interested In Providing Construction Management At-Risk Servicesfor The Construction Of A Project Known As Project No. Fmd-Cp2906-Cm Marex Seawater System Replacement.A Project Description Is Provided Below:Project Backgroundthe Uga Marex Seawater System Is Located On The Uga Skidaway, Georgia Campus On The Skidaway River Near Savannah, Georgia. The Marex Seawater System Supplies Seawater To The Aquarium Research Building, Oyster Research Hatchery, And The Skidaway Institute Of Oceanography. This Seawater System Is Vital To Academic And Research Activities. The Marex Seawater System Is Over 15 Years Old, Unreliable, And Approaching The End Of Its Useful Life.Project Descriptionthe Uga Marex Seawater System Replacement Project Includes But Is Not Limited To New River Intake Piping, 3 New Seawater Duty Pumps At 7.5 Hp Each, Which Require Minor 3-Phase Power Modifications On The Existing Rv Savannah Pier. The Project Also Includes A New Seawater Filtration System With 2 New Pumps At 3 Hp Each; Instrumentation, Control And Alarm Systems; And Related Single-Phase And 3-Phase Electrical Power System Modifications And Upgrades. The Seawater System Is Designed To Deliver From 100 To 300 Gpm Of Seawater To Various Points Of Use On Campus Employing 4¿, 3¿, 2¿, And Smaller Piping Systems, Primarily Pvc. Constructed Work Includes Demolition And Disposal Of A Reinforced Concrete Gravel Filter System; A Pre-Engineered, Wind Resistant, Garage-Type Filtration System Building; And A Buried Seawater Distribution Piping Gallery With Several Above Ground Valve Stations. The Multiple Pipe Supply Pipe Gallery Is Approximately 1,100 Feet Long Which Includes Approximately 200 Feet On The Pier And 900 Feet Buried. Careful Utilities Exploration And Excavationare Required To Avoid Damage And Conflicts With Existing Buried Electrical And Other Utilities. Record And Utility Survey Drawings Provided By Owner May Not Show All Utilities In Way Of Construction. Buried Pipe Compacted Earth Cover V
