The Pöchlarn – Scheibbs (“Erlauftalbahn”) Line Is A Single-Track, Non-Electrified And Approximately 27 Km Long Standard Gauge Line. The Line Is Part Of The Supplementary Network Of Öbb‑Infrastructure Ag And Represents An Important Feeder Route For Passenger And Freight Traffic To The Main Axes Of The Western Route. Given Current Transport, Energy And Climate Policy Objectives, There Is No Route Electrification. Instead, Passenger Transport Will Be Carried Out Using Battery-Electric Multiple Units In The Future. This Means That The Operational And Ecological Advantages Of Electric Operation Can Be Used Without Incurring The Significant Interventions And Costs Of An Overhead Line Infrastructure. The Sep Route 055 Pöchlarn (A) - Scheibbs (E) Is Outside The European Passenger And Freight Transport Corridors And Corresponds To The Master Plan Route 055. The Infrastructural Measures Aim To Prepare The Route For Efficient, Robust Battery-Powered Train Operation As Well As For Attractive Regional Transport In The Long Term Empower.
