General Procurement Notice for Chisinau Energy Efficiency of Kindergartens 1. Funding Details The above named client intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the above named project. Additional financing information: The facility will consist of a sub-sovereign loan to the City in the amount of up to EUR 11.5 million. The Project is also expected to be complemented by an investment grant of up to EUR 7 million, with the most likely source being the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) along with a contribution of up to EUR 1.1 million from the City. The EIB is expected to extend a parallel loan of up to EUR 11.5 million to support additional energy efficiency improvements. 2. Information on the Project Project Description: A loan to the City of Chisinau to implement a comprehensive energy efficiency programme targeting public buildings, specifically kindergartens. The Project will help enhance buildings performance, while introducing advanced management standards such as energy audits and energy performance certification. The planned measures will combine energy efficiency improvements with the integration of renewable energy sources, and delivering significant energy savings for the City. Targeted investments are expected to enhance environmental quality, reduce pollution, improve resource efficiency, and foster comfort, health and well-being for up to 10,000 children and nearly 1,500 staff.
