Tenders are invited for Thermal Control for Lunar Night Survival - Expro plus (e3cx-039) This activity aims to validate a thermal and power management system capable of supporting infrastructure elements through the harsh conditions of the lunar environmentspecifically the temperature excursions between day and night at various latitudes.The use case centers on operating an atomic clock on the lunar surface (Lunar Time pathfinder - in close cooperation with NAV), a high-precision system essential for future navigation, synchronisation, and autonomous operations. Its continuous function requires tight thermal stability and uninterrupted power, making it an ideal benchmark for stress-testing survival capabilities.By demonstrating that wecan sustain such a system through a full lunar day/night cycle, we directly de-risk a key challenge in long-duration surface missions. The outcome would be a proven solution for maintaining critical assets in lunar night conditions, laying the groundwork for scalable infrastructure and long-term presence on the Moon.
