The University Of Turku Is Looking For An Information System For Cataloguing, Storing, Receiving, Managing And Controlled And Licensed Further Use Of Original Research Materials. The Information System Must Be Suitable For Archival Use And For Storing Research Material That Is Sensitive To Data Security. The Object Of The Acquisition Is Finished Software That Is In Production Use In All Respects. With The Help Of The Information System, Post-Research Preservation (Archiving), Usability And Availability Of The (Digital) Research Materials Produced By Researchers At The University Of Turku Is Ensured, As Well As Further Use In New Studies. Research Materials Refer To Original Physical And Digital Materials Produced And Used In Research And Their Metadata. They Are Not Publications Resulting From Research. Metadata And Digital Files Of Research Materials Are Stored In The Information System Of The Research Material Archive. The System To Be Acquired In The Ongoing Research Material Archive Project (2025–2027) At The University Of Turku Is Being Piloted At The University With Three Sets Of Material Representing Different Disciplines, Of Which The Tendering And Implementation Includes The Migration Of The Metadata And Digital Materials Of The Archive Of The Department Of History, Culture And The Arts (Hktl Archive) And One Smaller Set Of Research Materials. In The Future, The Goal Is To Expand The Operation Of The System To As Many Disciplines As Possible At The University Of Turku. With The Help Of The System, Research-Related Services Are Centralized, And In The Future, Researchers And Students Do Not Always Have To Worry About Sharing Their Materials For Further Use. With The Information System, The University Supports Research, Meets The Requirements Of Open Science And Promotes The Creation Of A Positive, Green Footprint.
