The Syndicat Mixte Entre Pic Et Etang (Smepe) Exercises Waste Treatment Competence For The 6 Member Groups Of Municipalities:Community Of Agglomeration Of Pays De Lor;Community Of Communes Of Grand Pic St Loup;Community Of Agglomeration Of Lunel;Community Of Communes Of Rhôny Vistre Vidourle;Community Of Communes Of Pays De Sommières ;Communauté De Communes Terre De Camargue. Its Territory Brings Together 89 Municipalities Representing Approximately 226,500 Sedentary Inhabitants Of The South-East Sector Of Hérault And The South-West Sector Of Gard. The Waste Collected By The Various Groups Joins The Treatment Facilities Under Service Contract With The Union. Thus, Plants Are Collected Through A Network Of 27 Recycling Centers And Collection Points. They Then Enter The Field Of Intervention Of The Union, Responsible For Processing Them. Following The Integration Of Plant Processing Skills In 2016, The Union Carried Out An Audit Of The Exercise Of This Skill, On The 6 Processing Platforms Present On Its Territory. It Was Thus Established That The Plant Processing Activity On The Marsillargues Platform Could Not Be Continued. In Anticipation Of The Closure Of This Installation, A Technical, Regulatory And Financial Feasibility Study Was Carried Out In 2020, Then Updated In 2025, Relating To The Project To Create A Plant Treatment Installation At The Villetelle Recycling Center. Taking Into Account The Conclusions Of This Study, The Project Concerns The Establishment Of A Plant Treatment Installation (Storage And Grinding) On Plots Adjoining The Villetelle Recycling Center. In Order To Carry Out This Project, The Project Owner Would Like Assistance To Support It, From The Programming Phase To Delivery Of The Installation.
