As Part Of The Supervision Of The Site Selection Process, Base Has A Professional Interest In Knowing About The Final Storage Projects In The European And Other International Areas And Being Able To Draw Any Conclusions From Them. As Part Of The Espoo Agreement, German Authorities And The Public Are Involved In The Construction Of Nuclear Facilities In Neighboring Countries. The Base Is The Responsible Authority For This And Must Therefore Pursue Final Storage Projects In Neighboring Countries, Assess Their Relevance With Regard To Potential Environmental Impacts On Germany, And, If Necessary, Issue Statements With The Aim Of Involving The German Authorities And The Public In The Neighboring Country. Due To The Tight Time Scales In Espoo Procedures, Base Must Take A Proactive Approach In Order To Be Prepared For Cross-Border Participation In The Event Of A Notification. In Order To Support Base In Fulfilling These Various Tasks, The Contractor (Contractor) Of The Research Project Advertised Here Is Monitoring Which Requirements Are Being Developed For The Final Storage Of Radioactive Waste, How These Are Being Implemented And What The Status Of Development Of Final Disposal Is In The Individual Countries. The Aim Is An International Overview Of Final Storage Projects That Creates Comparability. Due To The Large Number Of Countries That Are Planning Or Already Implementing Final Disposal, And The Diversity Of The Approach And Current Status, It Is Not Assumed That A Comprehensive Overview Can Be Drawn Up Immediately. Rather, A Gradual, Ongoing Approach Is Expected. First, A Concept Is Developed That Shows How The Results Can Be Systematically Evaluated And Presented. The Countries To Be Evaluated Are Then Prioritized - In Consultation With Base. This Prioritization Is Then Processed. At The Same Time, It Must Be Ensured That Countries That Have Been Processed Are Continually Kept Up To Date.
