SELF-IRON/STEEL BUNDING WALL Design & Material: Steel bunds should be 3mm or thicker steel, with galvanised options for enhanced corrosion resistance and drainage holes. Distance & Height: Bund walls should be between 0.5m and 1.5m high, with the distance between the tank and the wall typically at least 1m. Compliance: Structures must comply with safety standards such as SANS 10131 for aboveground storage tanks Capacity: The bund must be able to hold 110% of the largest tanks capacity or 25% of the total volume stored, whichever is greater.
