To enable full-duplex operation, high isolation between the Tx and Rx chains has to be implemented. While significant advancements in satcom terminal technologiesparticularly flat panel antennas with single aperture for transmit and receivehave been made outside Europe, the availability of such technologies in Europe remains limited. The activity focuses on the on the definition and implementation of development of a flat panel antenna operating in the SATCOM Ka band based on a single transmit and receive shared aperture, providing sufficient isolation between the Tx and Rx ports to enable full-duplex operation. The transmit and receive chains function at different frequencies. Therefore, a radiating aperture supporting both frequency bands will have to be designed. The isolation between the Tx and Rx ports will have to be provided at antenna element and/or feeding line level.
