About LADE The Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections (LADE) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization committed to promoting electoral integrity and fair representation as essential pillars of a functional democracy. Since its establishment in 1996, LADE has been at the forefront of electoral reform in Lebanon through a comprehensive approach that includes election monitoring, evidence-based advocacy, and citizen engagement. LADEs work spans all stages of the electoral processpre-election, election-day, and post-electionwhile addressing issues such as gender inclusion, accessibility, and civic participation. 2. Project Background In the context of the ongoing war in Lebanon, political discourse has been increasingly shaped by disinformation, sectarian rhetoric, and polarizing narratives. These narratives circulate across media and digital platforms, influencing public perception, deepening social divisions, and undermining trust in institutions. To address these dynamics, LADE is implementing a project that combines systematic monitoring of political narratives with analytical research to assess their implications for democratic life, social cohesion, and governance. The project places particular emphasis on youth and gender dynamics, recognizing that women and young people are both key actors in political discourse and disproportionately affected by disinformation. 3. Role Overview LADE is seeking an experienced Analytical Writer to transform monitoring data into rigorous, structured, and evidence-based analytical papers. The consultant will work closely with LADEs team to interpret data collected through ongoing monitoring and produce three thematic analytical papers, each examining key dimensions of wartime political narratives and their democratic implications. 4. Key Responsibilities The Analytical Writer will: Analyze monitoring data on disinformation and misinformation, sectarian and polarizing narratives, and incitement and hate speech Translate data into clear analytical frameworks and arguments Draft three in-depth analytical papers (approx. 3,0004,000 words each) Ensure integration of gender-responsive analysis and youth engagement perspectives Identify key trends, actors, and narrative patterns shaping wartime discourse Assess implications for democratic governance, institutional trust, social cohesion Revise drafts based on technical and editorial feedback 5. Deliverables The consultant will produce three analytical papers based on monitoring data, covering: Sectarian Narratives and Polarization During Conflict Disinformation, War Narratives, and Trust in Institutions Youth, Gender, and Political Narratives During Crisis 6. Methodological Approach The analytical work will be grounded in: Continuous monitoring of media and digital content Qualitative and thematic analysis of narrative patterns, discourse framing, and actor behavior Contextualization within Lebanons political and conflict environment Integration of intersectional and gender-responsive perspectives 7. Contract and Remuneration The total consultancy fee for this assignment is USD 4,500 for the entire duration of the consultancy, which runs from April 2026 until July 2026. This amount covers the full scope of work, including research, analysis, drafting, revisions, and contributions to communication outputs. Payment will be made based on agreed deliverables and timeline. 8.
