Geological And Geophysical Instruments – Delivery Of A Das System For Seismic Monitoring Using Fiber Optic Technology Including Installation, Integration, Commissioning, Maintenance And Training. The Aim Is To Procure And Install A High-Performance Distributed Acoustic Sensing System Ready For Operation, Including All Components Required For Commissioning, I.E. Interrogator And Measuring Computer. The System Should Be Able To Detect Seismic Waves As Voltage Changes Over Existing Fiber Optic Lines Using Laser Measurements Of Rayleigh Scatter Effects And Integrate This Data Into The Earthquake Services Existing Monitoring Network. The Interrogator Should Be Usable For Real-Time Seismic Monitoring Using Existing Fiber Optic Infrastructure. The Aim Is To Improve Seismological Monitoring In Germany By Integrating Modern Fiber-Optic Technologies (Distributed Acoustic Sensing, Das) Into The Existing Earthquake Measurement Network. The Aim Is To Increase The Spatial Resolution And Real-Time Detection Of Seismic Events, Especially In Regions With Critical Infrastructure (Kritis). Das Should Be Examined As A Technological Replacement For Conventional Seismometers And Especially Strong Earthquake Sensors. The Device Is To Be Used Permanently At The German Nuclear Weapons Test Stop Station Geress After A Testing Phase At Various Locations, Such As To Test Its Usability For Kritis Monitoring And In The Upper Rhine Graben To Test Its Applicability For Monitoring Induced Earthquakes.
