Work Detail
Architectural Services For Outdoor Areas – Paderborn Future Quarter 1St Development Phase, Property Planning For Outdoor Areas. The Former Barracks Site Barker Barracks, With Its Approximately 52 Hectares, Is Considered The Largest Vacant Inner-City Conversion Area In The City Of Paderborn. After The British Military Released It In November 2019, The Area Was Returned To The Bima And Was Acquired By The City Of Paderborn In July 2024. The Paderborn City Administration Is Therefore Faced With The Major Task Of Developing The Area That Was Formerly Used For Military Purposes Into An Urban District. The Future Quarter Is Located Almost 2Km East Of Paderborns Historic City Center. The Former Barracks Is Located Like An Island In The City Area And Is Bordered To The South By Driburger Straße, To The West By Berliner Ring And To The North By Piepenturmweg. To The East Is The Existing Green Area Springbachpark And The Benhauser Feld Commercial Area Behind It. The Master Plan For The Future Quarter Was Developed, Which Is Decisive For The Urban And Open Space Planning Development Of The Area. In The Future, A Maximally Mixed Neighborhood With An Urban Character Is To Be Created In Which Active Climate Protection Takes Place. The Future Quarter Master Plan Formulates Six Key Objectives For The Development Of The Quarter: Maximum Mix And Productivity, Networking Of The City And Region, Test Space For Digital Innovation, Climate Resilience And Sustainability, Maximum Adaptivity And Co-Creative And Participatory Forms Of City-Making. The Development Of The Future Quarter Will Be Divided Into Two Sections. Over The Next Ten Years, The First Section In The South Of The District Will Be Planned And Implemented. When It Comes To Public Green Spaces, Parts Of The Green Mile, The Hashtag And The Green Ring Fall Into The First Development Phase. Due To The Surrounding Development Structure, The Creation Of The Open Spaces In The Urban Mile Area Was Only Planned For The Second Development Phase. Urban Development Funding Is Contributing To The Development Of The First Construction Phase. The Overall Measure “Paderborn Future Quarter, First Subarea” Was Included In The Federal-State Program “Growth And Sustainable Renewal” In The 2025 Program Year, So That Measures For Clearing Construction Sites, Creating Public Open Spaces As Well As Conception Phases, Project Management And Public Relations Can Be Funded Until At Least 2031. The Open Space Planning Concept Envisages Multi-Coding The Areas So That Different Uses (Sports, Games, Recreation, Nature, Rainwater Management, Mobility, Etc.) Can Be Layered On Top Of Each Other. Care Must Be Taken To Ensure That Recreational Uses Are Compatible With The Principles Of The Sponge City, So That A System Of Open Troughs And Underground Overflows Secures The Site Even During Heavy Rain Events. A Detailed Description Can Be Found In The Document “Information On The Subject Of The Service”. Starts November 9, 2026 And Is Expected To End In 2036 (Lph 9), Beginning
